Club Dining FAQ's

What is The Club Dining Facility?

Club Dining is located at the Brigham Young University–Hawaii campus and is open all day, for every meal. The primary customers are students, but we are open to the rest of the community as well. Club Dining serves up buffet-style dining and two entrees are offered at each meal of the day. Menus of the different entrees for the week can be found on the Club Dining Weekly Menu page, or on the BYU–Hawaii Club Dining Facebook page. A vegetarian option is also served at each meal. Cereal, ice cream, sandwich materials, a salad bar, and a waffle maker are available at all times while the establishment is open. Club Dining is also prepared to accommodate food allergies.

What type of food is served at Club Dining?

Accommodating a very diverse cultural environment, Club Dining serves a variety of foods from all over the world. American, Polynesian, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Indian, and Mexican foods are just the tip of the iceberg for what we prepare for students to enhance their experience.

Are meal plans transferable or efundable?

Meal plans are not transferable or refundable, however, students are provided with a certain number of guest passes that they may use at their own discretion. They also have a certain number of flex dollars that they may use.

Do flex dollars or guest passes "rollover" or continue into the next semester?

Nope. It's a good idea to look at how many flex dollars the student has over the semester and budget them weekly so they don't end up using them all at the beginning or realizing they didn't use any at the end. Same idea with guest passes. The Seasider Snackbar, where students may use flex dollars like a debit card with their student ID, sells basic needs such as laundry detergent and soap, so even if a student does not need more food they can buy practical items with their flex dollars.

Is Club Dining open on holidays?

We suggest keeping up with the Student Bulletin on holidays because our hours vary. For example, on Thanksgiving, we are only open for breakfast, but you'll need this form filled out so we can provide you with your Thanksgiving dinner.

Sick Trays

If you are sick in bed, we can provide a take-out-tray for you. Your friend, roommate, or RA must bring your ID and a note with your signature and present it to the cashier. They will be given a brown-bag meal with a fork, knife, two drinks, and one serving each of two entrees. You are allowed desserts and salads but they must fit into the take-out tray and they should not be stuffed into the paper sack.

If you are called into work at the last minute and it conflicts with the mealtime, you must give us a written note from your supervisor or have the supervisor call the Club Dining supervisor ((808) 675-3571) to let us know the times that you will be working.

Taking Food Out of Club Dining

Because of health and sanitation concerns, we do not allow food to be taken out of the building except for a few situations as listed above. Other than sick trays, all food must be consumed in the facility. Luckily it's all-you-can-eat, so fill up while you're sitting down.

Special Dietary Needs

Club Dining accommodates people with allergies such as nuts, fish, shellfish, eggs, dairy, wheat, or soy1. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are served at every meal. Should you need special accommodations, please make an appointment with Disability Services, and bring supporting documents regarding your special needs if you have them, then talk with our Club Dining manager and/or the executive chef.
